There’s a reason why cruisers young and old alike should be tremendously excited about the launch of Disney Fantasy next March. Simply put, her predecessor, Disney Dream, was a major game-changer in terms of what could and could not be done with a mainly family-oriented ship.

When Disney Cruise Line first set sail in 1998, it would have been simple for the line to chase after the hard-earned dollars of parents everywhere by providing an irresistible experience tailored only for kids, but instead the line chose to create both ships and an onboard program that remains highly sought-after by adults; even those who don’t have children.

With the new Disney Fantasy, due to set sail on March 31, 2012 from Port Canaveral, Florida, Disney seems poised to once again create a ship that is jaw-droppingly irresistible to a number of cruisers.  Frankly, there’s no other ship out there that successfully recreates the glamorous Edwardian-age of Transatlantic ocean liners so well, but with the modern, whimsical touch Disney is known for.

The impressive AquaDuck waterslide may have been designed with the little ones in mind (or just the young at heart!), but Disney’s sprawling spas, cozy pubs and tucked-away corners are all adult.

Here’s a peek at what passengers have to look forward to next year.  This is one new ship launch you don’t want to miss!
