Last summer, I literally set sail aboard the Wind Spiritpart of Windstar Cruises‘ fleet of sleek, motor-yacht cruise ships on a voyage from Stockholm, Sweden to Oslo, Norway.

With seven glorious days of exploring the Baltics, it proved to be an immeasurable adventure aboard a comfortable, relaxed, modern interpretation of the classic sailing ship. Breakfasts and lunches were taken outside on Wind Spirit‘s teak decks, surrounded by thoughtful nautical touches.  But one of my most memorable shipboard experiences was surely the line’s signature on-deck barbecue, served in the brilliance of the setting sun as we departed Warnemunde, Germany.
