Departing Wednesday, November 14, 2012 aboard Azamara Club Cruisesintimately sized Azamara Journey, this 15-night voyage whisks passengers from the ancient wonders of Athens to the stunningly beautiful – not to mention historic – city of Rhodes, located on the Greek island of the same name. Here, you can visit the nearby Acropolis of Lindos or stay in the city itself to explore the famous “Avenue of the Knights” or the breathtaking Grand Master’s Palace, located within the UNESCO World Heritage site.

But there’s more fun to be had as Azamara Journey leaves Greece behind for a transit of the Suez Canal, followed by six relaxing days at sea as she sails towards Oman, the United Arab Emirates, and finally, India.

Rather than being a negative, six straight days at sea is an overwhelming positive, allowing guests to revel in all that Azamara Journey has to offer. In fact, sea days allow you to do as much – or as little – as you’d like.  Our recommendation: rise late, stay up late!

Of course, those days spent idly sailing the ocean are just a tantalizing prelude to Azamara Journey’s arrival in Muscat, Oman.  Here, explore the desert landscape that surrounds this burgeoning city, most of which was constructed after 1970.

Then, it’s off to the city of Fujairah to explore this fascinating – and equally rapidly-expanding – city, located in the United Arab Emirates.

Two more days at sea allow for time to relax and decompress after your adventurous days ashore, which will likely be well-founded for arrival at your final port of call: Mumbai, India and the port city of Bombay.

The richest city in India, Mumbai has no shortage of diversions, sights and activities. In fact, it has the highest GDP of any city in Asia, and was designated as an “Alpha City” by the Globalization and World Cities Study Group in 2008.
